The volume control works fine and turns smoothly, the tuning dial turns smoothly as well, there is some static. Interior of the radio is pictured in the last photo.Radio works when a 9 volt battery is inserted. It stands on its own for display, but not if you use the stand. This is not easily noticed and the radio displays beautifully! The chrome stand is a little loose and does not hold the radio up at an angle. Please look closely, at the photos and you can see tiny areas of discoloration on the top and bottom edges, and this is where the hairlines are located. There is very minimal yellowing.The cabinet has difficult to see, very tiny hairlines, on the upper left side of the ivory cabinet and on the bottom side edge. The ivory plastic cabinet has a nice glossy sheen. Speaker grill is in beautiful condition and has no dings. Matte silver and chrome trim is in great condition with only fine scratches. The large centered speaker grill is attached to the body of the radio with a chrome ring intentionally concealing any screws or nuts - beautiful simplicity.CONDITIONThis example is in great vintage condition. Both tuning and volume was placed on the right side making it easy to operate with the thumb. This along with the TR-610 made the company's name recognizable worldwide.
